Got this email today. Not sure if any of my transient events were planets but how cool:
Dear Planet Hunters,
We have some very exciting news - thanks to the hard work of all of you at http://www.planethunters.org, we were able to announce this
morning the discovery of a new planet - Planet Hunters 2b, or PH2b for short - and 31 new planet candidates.
All of them are gas giants, at least the size of Neptune in our own Solar System, and all have longer periods than those we've found before, taking more than 100 days to orbit their parent stars. PH2b and 15 of the candidates are in the habitable zone - that region around a star where the temperature is not too hot, and not too cold for liquid water and maybe life to exist.
